Rudolf Fürst
Pinot Noir, Schlossberg, Grosses Gewächs, 2024
justerini & brooks tasting note
A smoother, more polished expression, with a veneer of finely integrated oak around sweet red fruits, almond and flowers. Effortless and stylish on the palate, tapering beautifully towards the finish without ever becoming heavy. Perhaps not the most complex of the three GGs this year, but irresistibly pretty and delicious. Schlossberg is typically the most accessible of Fürst’s three GGs on release, though its steep, rocky terraces are capable of producing wines of serious mineral definition. Fermented with 100% whole clusters and aged in French barrique.
