The Lieser holdings in the Juffer Sonnenuhr come from the very best part of the vineyard, right in the middle, where the vines are forty to fifty years old, yielding grapes of outstanding natural balance and depth. The 2020 Spätlese leaps out of the glass with pure, fragrant white citrus, stone and orchard fruits, and just a trace of Thomas’ trademark “sponti” sensations. Masterfully integrated, they add further detail and a herbal edge to the wine, complimenting all those lovely cool blue slate and green apple flavours. 7%.
