Goldtröpfchen’s beautiful fruits present themselves at every quality level. A little tighter in structure than the Juffer Sonnenuhr Spätlese, it presents lively, lifted, focussed sweetness with a certain grip. This is tense and full of verve.

The 2022 Riesling Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Spätlese has an earthy layer of reduction on the nose. The palate immediately has a stone fruit roundness, uniting tart Reine Claude plum compote with boxwood overtones, fruit radiating with cool, tart plum freshness. The flavors are exquisitely long, and the primary notes that lift off so beguilingly belie the depth of flavor. Elegant, vivid, tremendously deep-fruited and rooted in stony saltiness, finishing with great balance at around 85g/L of sweetness. (Sweet)
