Frühlingsplätzchen, Riesling, Grosses Gewächs,

Frank was delighted to be showing us his Grosse Gewachs, and on tasting them it was not hard to see why. An almost grape by grape vineyard selection means that only 10% of the Fruhlingsplatzen harvest makes it into the final Grosses Gewachs bottling. The wine that does displays a beautifully cool mineral finesse and glorious balance. White peaches, red currant and touches of herb, supremely ripe and succulent acidity and a long, fine, precise finish. Superb.
