Pomelo, lemon and tangerine characterise a graceful, slender and remarkably pure Frühlingsplätzchen GG. There is a teasing salty snap to the wine, with fine-grained, chalky acidity and crumbly stones giving definition to its particularly elegant profile. Pithy grip builds through the finish, joined by a subtle wash of warming spice. Frühlingsplätzchen's red soils typically give a more fragrant and open expression than Halenberg, and the contrast between the two GGs is particularly clear in 2025. 12.5%.

The 2025 Riesling Monzinger Frühlingsplätzchen Grosses Gewächs comes from Permian foliated stone. Lovely hints of petrichor tremble on the nose, alongside juicy tart red apple and cool, smooth pale yellow peach. This ripples, tingles and has a gorgeous edge of pepperiness. All of this streams into a super-serene, smooth, supple trajectory, with zesty citrus around the edges. It is the balance that disarms, the beautiful self-evidence, the serenity that somehow derives from the fact that this has timeless appeal, even though the finish could be just a little longer.
