    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Another chalk dominated vineyard, full of spicy citrus notes and a commanding sense of extract that holds firm the palate of sweet peach, warmed citrus and pomelo, moving into savoury, earthy spicy notes towards the finish. Complex, commanding and powerful.

The 2016 Riesling Zellerweg Am Schwarzen Herrgott "VDP Grosse Lage" is predominantly sourced from the parcels below the village. It opens with a lovely pure, chalky-spicy, lemony bouquet that is deep and concentrated. Round and elegant on the palate, with fine tannins and vital acidity, this is a pure, very salty, well-structured and stimulating Riesling with a lovely kick in the finish. With fantastic grip and piquant acidity, this is a long-distance runner that should be cellared for another to or three years, although I love the music and tension here.
