Zellerweg am Schwarzen, Herrgott, Grosses Gewächs, 2025
A magnificent Riesling of superb fruit purity, intense citric freshness and a river-water clarity that seems to flow through the wine. Despite the ripeness of the vintage, the wine remains remarkably tapered, stony and precise. Herrgott is one of the oldest documented vineyard sites in Germany, first recorded in the 8th century. The soils are limestone and dark clay.
critic reviews
The 2025 Riesling Mölsheimer Zellerweg Am Schwarzen Herrgott Grosses Gewächs comes with a creamy aspect to its cool lemon character on the nose, echoed by the merest trickle of flint. Lemon brightness and stony coolness simply expand on the palate with their soothing, calming, refreshing presence. This just radiates freshness and profound, cooling calm, with tender salt and suppleness. It envelops your senses in its own cool lemon universe. Gorgeous. (Bone-dry)
