Marco Marengo
Barolo, Brunate, Riserva, 2020
justerini & brooks tasting note
Darker and more linear than the 2022 regular Brunate, with a higher acid line, which absorbs the barrel, with mediterranean herbs, coffee, leather and black cherries lending a more savoury feel. The Riserva comes from old vines the heart of Brunate, the upper middle part, planted in 1942. Produced in the same way as the other wines with 24 months in 20% new oak barrels, then kept for an extra two years in bottle.
