Bannockburn, Chardonnay, 2021
Bright and clean with crisp yellow fruits, lime apple and citrus. More viscous and intense than the 2020 perhaps with a top note of white flowers, all underpinned with a core of compact acidity which drives through to the finish. The Bannockburn Chardonnay sees 15 months in oak, only around 5% of which is new. It is racked off the fine lees after 11 months and bottled unfined and unfiltered after 15 months.
critic reviews
The 2021 Bannockburn Chardonnay is creamy and nutty, with white peach, green apple, white pepper, vanilla pod and Portuguese tart. Not hugely complex, but it is a lovely wine with plenty of pleasure woven throughout. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
The 2021 Chardonnay Bannockburn is young and toasty, with a light flinty character piercing its core. It has flesh while being focused with a line of acidity pervading all. The finish has a medium-length, nutty core.
