Pinot Noir, Vrede, Hemel en Aarde, 2024

Dark fruited and sappy and intense with richness and bolder tannins than usual; a little extra kick of stony dust and spice too – the most grown-up Vrede to-date. Vrede is a north-east facing slope in the lower Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, the soils are predominantly stony, clay-rich Bokkeveld shale bringing texture and complexity. Aged for a year in 25% new French oak. New agglomerate cork closure from 2024.
