94/100Jane Anson,Robert Parker Wine Advocate

The classic Cab from Inglenook is always worth looking out for, and here it delivers sleek, intense bitter black chocolate, cassis fruit, eucalyptus, black tea, red liquorice, wet stones and espresso. Todd Devincenzi director, Philippe Bascaules winemaking director. 95ha estate.

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon is a pretty big step up from the 2022 tasted alongside it. Dark and vibrant in the glass, with terrific depth, the 2021 offers a very good balance of juiciness and structure. Blackberry, graphite, sage, lavender and menthol lend savory energy throughout.

Still in barrel in February 2025, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts dark notes of cedar mulch, earth, black olives and black cherries. It's medium- to full-bodied, velvety and intensely flavored, with a long, earthy and savory finish. It shows excellent balance, along with unusually refined tannins for the Cabernet Sauvignon, which can sometimes be a bit coarse when compared to the Rubicon.
