This is a classic, textbook Horseshoe with hugely expressive fruit and non-fruit components. I had always heard that owner Kevin Harvey had a soft spot for Skyline, but I’m told now he might, if pushed, pick Horseshoe if he could only have one. An impossible choice, but on the basis of this 2022, one you would be hard pressed to argue with. A recent magnum of 2018 Horseshoe was unforgettable...

The 2022 Pinot Noir Horseshoe Vineyard is still coming together in bottle. Wild and exotic, the Horseshoe is endowed with tons of complexity. It's also very clearly an adolescent. Black cherry, dried herbs, mint and espresso gradually begin to take shape. More than anything else, this really needs time in the cellar.
