2024 Riesling GGs, 2023 Spätburgunder & 2023 Chardonnay

In an effort to make our Germany En Primeur offer a little more digestible, we have opted to spotlight the new release Grosses Gewächs (GGs) on the same day that they are officially launched on the market globally. Representing the pinnacle of dry wine in Germany, produced from exclusively Grand Cru vineyards, the GG category has inspired vast improvements in quality since its introduction in 2002.

It is no overstatement to say that the annual GG releases have largely come to define reputation of the vintage in Germany. These wines speak to the best of modern Germany and provide an opportunity for those who might feel unmoved by wines with residual sweetness to explore styles exciting and new. The Riesling GGs vie with the very best whites in the world, and are produced in quantities akin to the best crus of Burgundy and Barolo, whilst the Spätburgunders (Pinot Noirs) listed have become top-drawer, sought-after reds in their own right.
