On the palate, it is juicy and straightforward, offering a gentle and approachable experience. While it may not be hugely complex, its simplicity and charm should make this an enjoyable early drinker.

critic reviews

90-92/100Antonio Galloni,Vinous

The 2024 Baron de Brane is aromatic and brisk in its first impression. Strong floral and savory notes lead into a core of dark blue/purplish fruit. Lavender, spice, dried herbs and menthol open with a bit of time in the glass. In 2024, the Baron is gracious and inviting. Production will be down by about 50% because of selection, with many of the lots going into Margaux de Brane, the château's third wine.

Good quality, brushed tannins, an impression even on the aromatics of precision and careful construction. Again an inky quality that gives texture and interest, the fruit is a little on the edge of ripeness, but such lovely sappy fruit. April 1, 1925 Léonce Recapet bought Brane Cantenac, so this is their 100th anniversary of the Lurton family ownership, now under Henri Lurton. 15.5% press wine. 3.52 pH. 46.6 hl/ha. Harvest 17 September to 8 October. 40% of overall blend.

The 2024 Baron de Brane offers up aromas of dark berries and cigar wrapper followed by a medium-bodied, velvety and soft palate underpinned by bright acids.
