Chorey Lès Beaune, La Piece du Chapitre, Monopole, 2021

Less overtly driven by fruit than the straight Chorey, this is mineral and discrete but with a lovely long finish and more depth at its core. There’s a certain savoury complexity here that makes it feel very poised and balanced yet there’s also a real clarity to the hedgerow and cherry fruit. A beautifully balanced and fine boned Pinot Noir from 70-year-old vines. Aged in a third new oak. Piece du Chapitre is a fine Chorey single parcel, a monopole of the Tollot Beaut estate, that is influenced by the cool Pernand valley.
