Barbaresco, 2020

Available Vintages
justerini & brooks tasting note

A great all-rounder that typically drinks well on the young side. A blend of Ronchi, Faset and declassified Rabaja and Rabaja Bas all from the Barbaresco commune. A classically proportioned wine which benefitted from 30 days of skin contact and 18 months ageing in large casks. The 2020s are really shaping up wonderfully already, and this exhibits all the beautifully heady, floral perfumes, strawberries and almonds that one could want. Supple and moreish, there is lots to like here. From this vintage onwards, the straight Barbaresco will be bottled under Diam 30.

critic reviews

92/100Antonio Galloni,Vinous

The 2020 Barbaresco is a very pretty, forward wine that will drink well right out of the gate. Succulent fruit and mid-weight structure give the 2020 tons of immediacy. The straight Barbaresco is not the last word of complexity, but the 2020 is delicious and very easy to drink. Floral and spice overtones punctuate the vibrant finish. The straight Barbaresco is the under the radar gem in this range. Vineyard sites are Faset and Ronchi. What a delightful wine it is.
