    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Incredibly brilliant, bright red fruit with plenty of richness and depth. High-toned and floral but make no mistake this is serious and persistent. Long, slender flavours of red cherry, strawberry and kirsch dance across the palate. From three parcels; the great Les Cruots (much beloved by Henri Jayer), Clos St.-Denis and Champs Traversins, making this a lively and bright, elegant style of Echézeaux.

The 2018 Echézeaux Grand Cru comes from 1.32 hectares of vine in the lieu-dit of Les Champs Traversins. Matured in 30% new oak, it has a fragrant bouquet of red berry fruit laced with bergamot tea and light forest floor scents. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins that impart more corpulence than Lamarche’s Premier Crus, exerting a gentle grip toward the finish. Very harmonious in style, this should drink well for the next 15 years, possibly more.
