    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

A Grand Cru blend of two thirds Pinot Gris and one third Pinot Blanc, which leaps out of the glass with layers of steely orange and lemon pulp. A bit of coaxing reveals subtle notes of salt, nut and softening peaches, cushioning the otherwise sharp and sculpted acidity. A fabulous wine, but a menacing one to get blind! Raised in a combination of 228L barrique, 600L casks and concrete tank. It includes some new wood. The Grand Cru Furstentum is made up of limestone-clay and sandstone and produces wines of great aromatic complexity as well as elegance.

    Anne Krebiehl,

The 2023 Pinots Furstentum Grand Cru is a co-ferment of Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, raised in 228- and 500-liter barrels with a tiny proportion of new oak. Gentle creaminess combines with ripe, yellow pear juice on the nose. The palate is vividly fresh, absolutely bright, sprightly and really svelte, yet with that oaky creaminess. Its bone-dry nature makes this come across as austere now, but in a few more months, the 2023 will be creamy, slender and smooth. (Bone-dry)
