Château Grand Puy Lacoste
Château Grand Puy Lacoste, 5ème Cru Classé, Pauillac, 2013
justerini & brooks tasting note
The 2013 Grand Puy Lacoste is crafted from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot. This is in much the same mould at its stable mate Haut Batailley, but silkier, broader and more generous. There is a quintessential Pauillac bouquet of clear cassis, cut flowers, mint, herbs and graphite. On the palate there is more roundness (than Haut Batailley), with crème de mûre fruit, sweet cherries, a hint of iodine and gravelly minerality. The finish is pure and long and speaks of cool fruit and menthol. Another stylish GPL.
