Château La Tour Blanche, 1er Cru Classé, Sauternes, 2025
2025 La Tour Blanche is 77% Semillon, 15% Muscadelle, 8% Sauvignon Blanc. This is impressively bright and lifted for the vintage. There is a florality at the fore with fragrant orange blossom and white flowers. Candied lemon, marmalade, honey and blanched almonds add drive to the long, sumptuous finish.

The 2025 La Tour Blanche has a more primal bouquet, tightly wound at first, then opening with beeswax and light apricot scents. The palate is wonderful, with plenty of vivacious botrytised fruit, energy and tension. It is weighty as usual with this Sauternes, but there is a countervailing sense of energy through to the finish. Excellent.
Sweet, ripe mango and grilled apricot fruits, luscious but struggles to really convey lift and tension. Yield 6.5 hl/ha.
