    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

A stunning effort that includes 55% Cabernet Sauvignon 40% Merlot the rest is made up of Cab Franc and Petit Verdot. Representing 45% of the production with 5% going into a third wine. Very dark ruby with a purple rim. Very pronounced, fresh, pure nose, with fruit ripe to perfection. Excellent weight on the palate, the fruit very concentrated and fresh, and the tannins remarkably smooth and supple. Extremely elegant, long and persistent on the finish. Excellent.

The 2004 Pavillon Rouge has a really lovely, peppermint-tinged bouquet that is very well-defined and full of vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with impressive concentration. It is not a complex wine, and it might feel just a bit forceful on the slightly leathery finish. But it has a sense of swagger about it that I really like. Maybe just give this a couple more years if you fancy.
