Domaine de Cambes, Bordeaux, 2020
This wears the Mitjavile signature with a wonderful bouquet quite unlike anything else in Bordeaux; it’s so lavish and expressive, with notes of wild-flowers, damsons, sous bois and fragrant loganberries. Intense yet refined, texturally superb, very long, decadent but controlled with real intensity and focus. Utterly mouth-watering and rather too easy to drink, it finishes with bright goji and notes of bitter chocolate. The best Domaine de Cambes we’ve tasted. Superb!
critic reviews
Expressive aromas of blackberries, violets and sweet spices preface the 2020 Domaine de Cambes, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered wine that's rich and demonstrative, its generous core of fruit framed by fine, chalky tannins.
The 2020 Domaine des Cambes has a perfumed and curiously quite Burgundian bouquet, very pure with red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit. Pretty. The palate reverts back to its regional origin, grainy tannins, quite gourmand in style with savory, cereal-tinged finish. Easy and open, enjoy this over the next 12 years or so.
