Gevrey Chambertin, Les Cazetiers, 1er Cru, 2014

Long, round and silky Gevrey, fine cherry fruit with earthier notes of stone, mineral and dark chocolate. Complex and intense but so alluring. Beautiful. A first rate Gevrey Premier Cru vineyard high up on the slope next door to Clos St Jacques, whilst there is a similar aromatic quality to the wines of its neighbour the taste profile is very different, with suaver, rounder fruit coming thanks to the white clay soils found here in this limestone-influenced parcel in the upper part of the vineyard.
