Gevrey Chambertin, 2017
justerini & brooks tasting note
Always one of the more joyous, open and engaging Gevreys. There is the typical breadth and fullness you find in the wines of this commune but here you find in addition a less typical forward fruitiness and perfume that utterly seduces. Full but delicate, expansive and caressing. This gently coats the mouth rather than forcing itself. Beautiful, fine, strawberry, red cherry and cherry stone fruit. Bold but beautiful. This comes from two plots on rich clay soils, Les Carrougots and En Jouise.
