Chantal Remy
Chambertin, Grand Cru, 2017
Ready,Youthful
2026 - 2045justerini & brooks tasting note
Deep to mid deep red colour, a sumptuous dark-fruited Chambertin. Creamy, broad but totally seductive. Darker fruit than Remy’s other wines. Notes of loganberry and creme de mûre. Voluptuous, clear very seductive. The estate’s smallest parcel. Even in a generous year like 2017, only one and a half barrels are produced.

The 2017 Chambertin Grand Cru feels a little volatile on the nose of black and blue fruit and cherry liqueur, quite high-toned but missing a little grace. The palate is framed by saturated tannins, delivering plush black cherry and blueberry fruit but lower acidity than its peers, and as such, it lacks some complexity and terroir expression on the finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.
