Château de Meursault
Pommard, Clos des Epenots, 1er Cru, 2019
justerini & brooks tasting note
The most seductive young Pommard Clos des Epenots we have tasted. Smooth, juicy and fresh sweet red fruits roll across the palate. Curvy and corpulent, the soft but expansive flavours coat the palate and extend accross an equally open finish. Super expressive, fluid flavours of fresh damsons, griotte cherry, sweet spices and mulberry lure you in. The finish is long, floral and graceful. Stylish and sophisticated. One of the great Pommard climats producing wines of great finesse and longevity. The vines were planted between 1948 and 1978 and the soils here are well-draining.
