Vosne Romanée, Aux Malconsorts, 1er Cru, 2020
Deceptively intense, for its immediate, open, refined nature strikes you first - offering lifted notes of bright red fruit and minerals, a hint of bramble and smoky Asian spices. The tannins gently emerge into the foreground, providing solidity and contrast to the svelte, sweet fruit. Aged in 50 percent new oak and fermented with 65 percent whole bunches.
critic reviews
The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Malconsorts 1er Cru has a well-defined and intense bouquet with ample red berry fruit, sous-bois and violet scents. The oak is seamlessly integrated. The palate is pure and focused, with a mixture of red and blueberry fruit and fine tannins. It's polished in style, but there is focus and tension from start to finish. The 2020 is tightly coiled at the moment, but it should turn into an excellent Premier Cru. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
