Clos de Vougeot, Grand Cru, 2017
As you expect of Clos de Vougeot, there is more brawn here than with the other Grands Crus but you still feel tremendous precision and also the finesse and poise of the vintage. Big but detailed red sappy cherry fruit, a more ethereal Clos de Vougeot but not without breadth and balance. A blend of three parcels within the Clos de Vougeot, one from the bottom part of the vineyard, one from the middle on the Vosne side and one higher up near to the Château.
critic reviews
The 2017 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru has a slightly diffuse nose at first, though it coheres with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy tannins, but there is a lack of tension and precision. Rather reduced toward the finish, which does not urge another sip. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.
