Vosne-Romanée, Les Beaux Monts, 1er Cru, 2017

Mineral and red fruit aromas, high-toned and a little haughty at first but this really grows on you, fast. Beautifully ethereal, small strawberry and red cherry fruit with chalky notes. Long and open, a more discrete and elegant wine than Brûlées but it wins you over in the end. One of the cooler, stonier vineyards of Vosne producing fine, silky mineral wines.
