Drouhin Laroze
Latricières-Chambertin, Grand Cru, 2022

2029 - 2047justerini & brooks tasting note
Lacy and floral, with a super-fine weave of tannin, elegant in structure and imbued with plenty of freshness and detail. Haunting intensity here is delivered without weight but with plenty of persistence. One of Gevrey’s great Grand Crus, the Drouhin Laroze parcel is majorly influenced by the surrounding forest, which helps to offset the warm, stony soils. Fermented with 30% whole bunches.

The 2022 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is blended with 27% whole bunches this year. This has quite a high-toned bouquet, and I felt a slight oxidation on this sample. The medium-bodied palate has quite firm tannins like the Chapelle-Chambertin and plenty of black plum towards the finish. I don't think I will rate this sample.
