Latricières Chambertin, Grand Cru, 2023
Like Lavaut, Latricières receives the cooling winds that funnel through a small Combe, and in ’23 the result is a wine of supple, silky depth, with ripe red fruit at its core, a firm backbone of stony minerality, and a chiffon covering of deep and flowing fruit and salt. One of Gevrey’s great Grand Crus, the Drouhin-Laroze parcel is majorly influenced by the surrounding forest, which helps to offset the warm, stony soils. Fermented with 15% whole bunches and aged in 75% new oak. Latricières is a stonier and windier terroir than the other Grands Crus of Gevrey
critic reviews
The 2023 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a lifted nose with a slightly more savory bouquet, opening nicely with aeration: red berry fruit, sous-bois and light minty aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with quite grippy tannins, dark berry fruit and a more structured finish. Give this two or three years in bottle.
