Aloxe Corton, 2019

A more muscular Aloxe village than usual, this has middle and sinew but with contours to the fruit and round and beautifully velvety texture. Immensely vivid for such a dark and dense wine, there is a real snap of freshness to the ripe bramble, loganberry and raspberry fruit. This offers a depth and intensity well above its villages status. It comes from a parcel of vines planted on chalk and limestone soils that produce atypically round, alluring Aloxe-Cortons.
