Aloxe Corton, 2022
A wonderfully clear eyed Aloxe villages that is bursting with energy and a real sense of the limestone terroir that it is grown on. Dark and bright briary fruit, black raspberry, summer pudding all present in this ripe yet precise village cuvée. Hugely satisfying and most impressive. This comes from a parcel of vines planted on chalk and limestone soils that produce atypically round, alluring Aloxe-Cortons.
critic reviews
The 2022 Aloxe-Corton Village was partially affected by hail and is the only cuvée to include whole bunches, which works well on the nose and has more freshness than the Pernand-Vergelesses Les Fichets. The palate is medium-bodied with blackberry and raspberry fruit, fine tannins, and good tension on the finish. Delightful.
