Chambolle Musigny, Les Fuées, 1er Cru, 2010
Brilliant, lively colours and flavours, initially a little stern and brooding, this gradually opens out into an explosion of ripe forest berry, crunchy plum, red cherry and currant fruit. Concentrated, dense and taut. One of Chambolle’s higher Premier Crus vineyards, Ghislaine’s parcel is over 75 years old and produces intense but very refined wines.
critic reviews
Good bright red. Pungent crushed-rock minerality lifts the aromas of wild red fruits and black cherry. Dense, sappy and very deep, with explosive black cherry, mineral, wild herb and spice flavors saturating the entire mouth and vibrating on the very long, perfumed aftertaste. Conveys a thickness of texture that comes from tiny grapes but without any impression of weight. Wonderfully urgent, sappy and long on the compellingly sweet finish. I could drink a bottle right now, but this wine really deserves a decade in the cellar.
