Chassagne-Montrachet, Les Caillerets, 1er Cru, 2022
justerini & brooks tasting note
This smells like a wine waiting to explode, a crouching tiger of a Chassagne, all pent-up energy and dynamism. The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru has a lifted bouquet with citrus fruit, linseed oil and hazelnut scents, well defined, with a touch of green olive in the background. The palate is fresh and vibrant, quite spicy like the '21, with fine weight, perhaps just denuded of a little mineralité on the finish due to the warmth of the growing season. Fine.
