Chambolle Musigny, 1er Cru, 2022
Fine grained, delicate, silky, flowing, fluid and gracious, with lovely deep red fruits, sleek, silky, flowing tannins and a long, ethereal finish. Very Chambolle and living up to Veronique’s commentary on the wine, “a cuvee that is always about the beauty of Chambolle – a wine of a delicate elegance.” A top quality and relatively rare blended Chambolle 1er Cru from six vineyards?: Les Borniques, Les Plantes, Les Combottes, Les Groseilles, Les Santiers and Les Noirots.
critic reviews
The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru is a blend dominated by Les Plantes and Combottes. Wafting from the glass with scents of raspberries, rose petals, sweet spices and cherries, it's medium to full-bodied, pure and seamless, with a layered core of fruit and a fine-boned, mineral profile.
The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru comes from estate and purchased fruit, five or six different sources blended during vinification, and includes around 35% whole bunches. The bright bouquet offers dark cherries, wild strawberries, and hints of wild heather and sea spray. The medium-bodied palate has pliant tannins, is quite harmonious, and has more dark fruit toward the finish, laced with dark chocolate and brown spices. Very fine.
