Pernand Vergelesses, Ile de Vergelesses, 1er Cru, 2019

Typically classy and with a "Pernand" coolness and minerality, tempering the ample ripe fruit of the vintage. The vineyard is planted on much rockier, less iron-rich soils than Rollin's other Pernand 1er Cru, Les Fichots, yielding very crisp, saline, streamlined wines. Aged for a year in 20% new oak.
