Robert Chevillon
Nuits St Georges, Les St Georges, 1er Cru, 2015
justerini & brooks tasting note
Bold, strong-willed, powerful and profound. Its brut strength will need a long time in bottle to settle but this is such an impressive, layered wine. Less precise and more reticent than the Vaucrains when tasted from barrel but with greater raw power. Notes of mulled spices, cherry, raspberry, bramble, sloe and plum. For the long haul. The great vineyard of Les-St.-Georges, perfectly situated mid-slope, has the potential to be the region’s only Grand Cru.
