Nuits St Georges, Les St Georges, 1er Cru, 2018
For such an opulent, powerful wine this display great aromatic freshness. Deep and complex. Firm tannic muscle supports the seductive and expansive fruit. Long, silky notes of griotte, strawberry and rose hip wash across the palate. A great mix of strength, sinew and gorgeous, heady fruit. Beautifully complete. The great vineyard of Nuits St. Georges, perfectly situated mid-slope, that has the potential to be the region's only Grand Cru.
critic reviews
Bottled last spring, the 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Village has an attractive nose of black fruit, touches of pain grillé and black pepper. The palate is medium-bodied with quite dense red fruit on the entry. Structured and serious for a Village Cru, and there is firm grip on the saline finish. This will require two or three years in bottle.
