Clusel Roch
Côte Rôtie, Champon, 2021
justerini & brooks tasting note
From two parcels surrounded by forest, one east facing planted on sandy and limey soils, the other west facing on the plain. A totally different profile to the Viallière, this has darker fruit and more resonance and amplitude. Ripe, present tannins are covered in part by notes of tapenade, bramble and plum. It has a more serious cut to the finish, one that delivers a certain amount of freshness, too. Aged for two years in 20% new oak.
