Le Champon comes across as more wholesome, textural and finessed, offering up a delicate mix of ripe plums, bramble, grated chocolate and fine earth. Very long on the finish, a creeping tannic wash builds to frame the lavish fruits. A gorgeous Syrah. From two parcels, one east facing planted on sandy and limey soils, the other west facing on the plain.
