A parcel of very old vines that will not be made every year, only when Bastien feels it is absolutely justified. Fermented with 70% whole bunches and with a touch more new oak than the L’Instinct, 25%. This packs a punch initially, there is clearly huge depth and substance, but as the wine expands it does so with focus and precision. Rich dark and red hedgerow and forest berry fruits, so vivid yet so powerful. As the layers unfold a strong granitic minerality and saltiness bursts forth to add focus and vitality to the finish.
