Côte Rôtie, Ampodium, 2022
justerini & brooks tasting note
Briary, generous with silky plummy fruits, flowing and easy to taste with a nice snappy herbaceous finish. As ever a minimum of 90% whole bunch fermentation was used to keep the wine as fresh as possible. A blend of top-quality vineyards across the estate including Tupin and Viaillere, all fermented with whole bunches and aged in large demi-muid casks, a maximum of 10% of which are new.

The taut 2022 Côte-Rôtie Ampodium reveals black cherry, red plum, crushed violets and a touch of cedar on the nose. Medium-bodied with concentrated flavors, the 2022 concludes persistently with an elegant finish. More tannic than the 2023 tasted alongside, it will benefit from at least two more years in bottle.
