Côte Rôtie, Côte Blonde, 2020
justerini & brooks tasting note
Thrilling and intense. Utterly captivating with its tight-knit, crisp, taut fruit and super chiselled but binding tannins. Notes of violet and bramble unlock with air and a cleansing mineral quality washes over the long finish. A plot of 45-year-old vines planted on whiter, more limestone soils than the La Landonne, giving a stricter style of wine but with finer-cut tannins and shape. Fermented with 100% whole bunches and aged in large demi-muid casks, a maximum of 10% of which are new.
