Côte Rôtie, Côte Blonde, 2024
Côte Blonde is the aristocratic, hypothetical blend of La Landonne and Viailliere – a true Northern Rhône great that always sits at a superior level. It offers the velvet tannin and sleek, layered violet fruits of Viaillière with the salinity and spice of La Landonne. A plot of 50-year-old vines planted on whiter, more limestone soils than the La Landonne, giving a stricter style of wine but with finer-cut tannins and shape. Fermented with 100% whole bunches and aged in large demi-muid casks, a maximum of 10% of which are new.
critic reviews
The 2024 Côte-Rôtie Côte Blonde casts its first impression in ripe red fruits, black cherry, dimmed stemmy tones and glints of graphite. Medium-bodied, fresh and elegant, the 2024 finishes neatly with gentle persistence on the subtly spicy fade-away.
