Rudolf Fürst
Pinot Noir, Centgrafenberg, Grosses Gewächs, 2024
justerini & brooks tasting note
Expressive aromas of blue and wild cherries, sloes and red plums lead into a gentle core of spice and soft fruit. Toast and light smoke sit quietly underneath, with dried herbs emerging on the finish. There is plenty of character without density or severity; an open, composed Centgrafenberg that feels approachable even at this early stage. Centgrafenberg has always served as the “home” vineyard of the estate, its steep sandstone terraces allowing the grapes to achieve reliable ripeness. Fermented with whole clusters and aged in French barrique.
