Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Riesling, Auslese, 2025
Really long and juicy, super vibrant on the palate, it offers sweet small berries; some red fruits as well as nectarine and honey unfurling with gorgeous caressing sweetness. A late harvest selection as a rule with little botrytis at this level, other than vintages like 2006 and 2013 which are rare.

The 2025 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese flashes up with a momentary note of fresh pineapple, while the next glimpse is of wet, salty slate and lemon zest. The palate is wonderfully dollop-like, like a droplet that is a universe of citrus, with a beguiling lime and grapefruit shimmer that almost comes across as peppery. What a stony, agile, refreshing little marvel. This does not take up much space and barely any weight at all, but it delivers such flavor, such fragrance, such freshness. What a beauty. (Sweet)
