Kirchenstück, Riesling, Grosses Gewächs, 2021
Hailing from a plot above the winery in Hohen-Sülzen, Kirchenstuck invariably represents the most delicate, shimmering, fruit driven wine in the range. White flowers and crisp cool citrus notes, with a saline dint rather than intense complex minerality, this positively glistens with early morning dew-kissed citrus fruit and a direct, linear, fresh acidity.
critic reviews
The 2021 Kirchenstuck Hohen-Sulzen Riesling GG opens with a pure yet intensely aromatic and chalky bouquet of ripe fruits and crushed stones and salt. On the palate, this is a tight, dense, savory, limestone-driven and persistently salty Kirchenstuck that is utterly chalky and tensioned and finishes with stimulating citrus-fruit notes and very fine tannins. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in October 2022.
