Barbera, Larigi Langhe, 2004
justerini & brooks tasting note
A 60 year old single vineyard Barbera cuvee aged in 100 percent new oak. About as scintillating and sophisticated as Barbera gets. The 100% new oak has clearly acted as nothing more than a vessel to add polish to this beautiful wine, which absolutely resonates with juicy crushed fruit flavours of redcurrants, blackberries, cranberries with complex shades of salts, herb, spice and saddle leather. Perfectly poised and truly mouth-watering.

The 2004 is another profound Larigi. Silky tannins frame a core of refined, elegant fruit. The aromatics are particularly expressive, and the wine boasts superb balance, which should allow it to age gracefully for years. It is an awesome Larigi!
