Barolo, Rocche dell'Annunziata, 2012
It may be from the same commune as Brunate but this has a totally different profile. Silky, fine-tuned and ethereal wild strawberry and rose characteristics. Fruity but layered and complex in a gentle, unforced way. Chic and graceful but with surprising intensity and persistence. A fine south facing sandy clay and limestone vineyard in the Annunziata sub zone of La Morra.
critic reviews
The 2012 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata is one of the riper, racier wines in this range. Sweet floral notes meld into a core of red berries, mint and sweet spices. This is a very typical 2012 Barolo that already drinks well early. Expansive and voluptuous to the core, the Rocche is probably the first of these 2012s that I would choose to open. This is a very typical Barolo from one of La Morra's finest sites.
